What a bug sweep covers
A sweep combines electronic detection with a hands-on physical inspection. We check for radio frequency transmitters, hidden cameras whether transmitting or recording, listening devices, and GPS trackers on vehicles. The physical inspection matters as much as the equipment: outlets, fixtures, furnishings and vehicle mounting points get examined directly, because the cheapest devices are often the quietest ones.

Sweeps are $1.50 per square foot with a $500 minimum. A vehicle sweep is $500 flat. Those prices are quoted and agreed before any work begins. A single vehicle is a smaller job than a two-story home or an office suite, so square footage is what moves the number.
Signs you might be under surveillance
Private conversations surfacing with people who should not know them. An unfamiliar object or new wiring in your home or office. A person with past access to your space, such as an ex-partner, a former employee or a business rival, behaving as if they know your movements. Contentious litigation or a difficult separation in progress. None of these prove anything on their own. A sweep replaces suspicion with an answer.
Homes, offices and vehicles
Residential sweeps cover the living space and anything attached to it. Commercial sweeps cover offices, conference rooms and vehicles used by principals. Vehicle sweeps look for GPS trackers and recording devices. In Florida, installing a tracking device on another person’s vehicle without consent is generally a crime under section 934.425 of the Florida Statutes, so a device we find is potential evidence. We document it to evidentiary standards rather than simply throwing it away, so your attorney can decide what to do with it.
What a sweep is and is not
A sweep addresses devices planted in a space or a vehicle. It is not phone or computer forensics, and it is not a promise about the future: a clean result describes the space on the day it was swept. Anyone promising more than that is selling reassurance, not countermeasures. What we provide is a documented inspection by a licensed investigator, with findings you can act on.
Discretion is the point
Sweeps are scheduled discreetly and reported only to you. Under section 493.6119 of the Florida Statutes, the contents of the investigative file are confidential to the client. Bug sweep questions, answered
How do I know if my house is bugged?
You usually cannot know for certain without an inspection, which is the point of a sweep. Warning signs include private conversations getting back to people who were not in them, unfamiliar objects or wiring appearing in your space, and someone with past access to your home behaving as if they know your private business. If you suspect a device, do not discuss your suspicion or the sweep inside the space. Call from somewhere else.
Can a private investigator find hidden cameras?
Yes. A TSCM sweep detects hidden cameras with a combination of electronic detection and physical inspection, covering both cameras that transmit and cameras that only record locally. Lens detection and direct examination of fixtures and furnishings catch devices that radio frequency scanning alone can miss.
Is it legal for someone to put a GPS tracker on my car in Florida?
In general, no. Section 934.425 of the Florida Statutes makes it unlawful to place a tracking device or application on another person’s property without consent, with limited exceptions, including law enforcement acting lawfully as part of a criminal investigation, and a parent or legal guardian of a minor child where the statute’s custody and consent conditions are met.
