What a sweep covers in Fort Myers
A sweep combines electronic detection with a hands-on physical inspection, and the second half matters as much as the first. We check for radio frequency transmitters, hidden cameras whether they are transmitting or recording to local storage, listening devices, and GPS trackers on vehicles. Outlets, fixtures, furnishings and vehicle mounting points get examined directly, because the cheapest devices are often the quietest ones and the ones that never transmit are invisible to a receiver.

Why Fort Myers work looks different
Lee County has a heavy concentration of construction, contracting, marine and hospitality businesses, and the rebuild economy that followed the last several storm seasons put a lot of money through contracts written quickly between parties who did not know each other well. A meaningful share of the sweep requests we take in this market come out of business disputes rather than domestic ones: partnership breakups, contract fights, and situations where someone who used to have keys and alarm codes no longer should.
That shapes what gets swept. Commercial requests here skew toward conference rooms, private offices and work vehicles, and work trucks matter more in Lee County than in most of the state because so much of the local economy runs out of them. What a sweep is, and what it is not
A sweep addresses devices planted in a space or a vehicle. It is not phone or computer forensics, and it is not a promise about the future. A clean result describes the space on the day it was swept. Anyone promising more than that is selling reassurance rather than countermeasures. What you get is a documented inspection by a licensed investigator, with findings you can act on.
If a device is found, we document it to evidentiary standards rather than simply removing and discarding it. In Florida, installing a tracking device on another person’s vehicle without consent is generally a crime under section 934.425 of the Florida Statutes, so what we find may be evidence. What happens next, whether that is law enforcement, your attorney, or quiet removal, is your decision, made with the documentation in hand.

Can you sweep a boat?
Yes. A vessel is treated like any other enclosed space, with the same combination of electronic detection and physical inspection, and it is quoted on the same basis as a property sweep rather than the flat vehicle rate. Given how much of Lee County lives on the water, this comes up more here than elsewhere.
Is it legal for someone to put a GPS tracker on my car in Florida?
Generally no. Section 934.425 of the Florida Statutes makes it unlawful to install a tracking device on another person’s property without their consent, with limited exceptions, and since October 1, 2025 that offense is a third degree felony. A tracker found on your vehicle is potential evidence, which is why we document it rather than discard it.
